Real shell sounds

Joseph SARDIN’s recording of small shells touching, used under CC0. The game applies volume normalization and gentle frequency filtering, then plays sections during shaking and landings. These are recorded shell clinks, not a recording of the player’s own cowries.

Spoken results

Dast, Banj, Bara, Shakkeh and Khal: دست، بنج، بارا، شكّة، خال. Written names were checked against Jawaker’s Arabic rules. Interface and spoken language can be selected independently. Settings includes previews for every result.

Included Arabic and English voices

The included shell calls are synthesized audio, generated for this game. Arabic uses the built-in voice of Chatterbox Multilingual V3 by Resemble AI, published under the MIT license. The clips are generated with its built-in audio watermarking. English uses Piper’s LJ Speech voice, trained from scratch on the public-domain LJ Speech corpus. Short clips were generated locally, trimmed and levelled. Voice models are not downloaded or run on your phone. You may instead select a compatible device voice in Settings.
